Thanks John for a very interesting sharing. I take it you are speaking about cultural misappropriation? Richard Rudd once dubbed the ‘new age’ movement as ‘the new suburbia’. I thought that was pretty appropriate. Like many North Americans, I embraced yoga and the new age brand of spirituality decades ago. It was very helpful in its way. North America is IMO a spiritual wasteland. So what were we to do? I believe the new age movement served its purpose as a bridge. Now, we are being offered something better by discovering our own way and being our own teacher. Just like when I was an art school student, we learned about the masters, were taught techniques; the goal being that we would go on to develop our own style. I had a Sufi spiritual teacher for 5 years who said that yoga was given as a gift to India to help them become more assertive as they had endured so many years as serfs. Not sure if there is any truth to this statement. But that’s really all this work is about isn’t it? - trying to undo all the mind control that separates us from our true selves. Wishing you healing for your loss.
So kind of you to write CC. I hear you and thank you for sharing about how you fin N.America and your journey in that landscape. Yes undoing the entwined propaganda and separation that leads to such separation through real awareness is the work indeed
Your message strikes my core as a human being. I often wonder where “we” will all end up…well actually I do know… but it’s a frightening thought. As someone who wants love and peace in the world (sounds trite yes), I tend to dig deep within myself and pray and use my many resources (including God given graces) to enact change from within, one person at a time…These are frightening times… all that we have seen and hear. Keep sending your messages John. God bless you. Angie

Couldn't agree more Angie - It's one by one but also together. Love and Peace can only come through liberation and healing. God bless you
