As part of my literary work seems to more and more involve a certain amount of artistic and intellectual curation, I thought I’d from time to time share a few things I’ve been sitting with and reflecting on, and sometimes just plain old enjoying.
In this interview on the age old topic of ‘free speech’ the great bell hooks gives plenty of food for thought. I would love to hear your thoughts below in the comments - I won’t say my thoughts at this time.
Sadly in our age we are too quick to jump to egoic reaction instead of listening first to understand, considering, and then perhaps seeking to be understood, in the light of response, imagination, and heart. But you are here with your correspondent, so here is hope and capacity through you.

... and here we are today
it's certainly not that we weren't told about the concerning signs that fascism was headed our way; the wonderful bell hooks being one of the most articulate...
I guess deep rooted conditioning is just so difficult to overcome that things must burn before enough of us cross that barrier of unrealistic fear into all that life should be. when love is missing from our leaders and in ourselves, terrible things happen.
this time in the world is a real opportunity to revamp, regroup, put things right, but it requires a discipline to do the right thing, not the easy one.
I truly believe to choose love in today’s world is the most heroic feel anyone could do….I had no idea she had passed on in 2021. All about love was truly a work of art this woman is inspiring in so many ways….her words will leave an imprint in this world for a lifetime through the gift of words…felt deeply by many….love is where ego is lost….if humanity would come from love always there would be no room for ego….easier said than done of course ha ha I’m a work in progress for life
